A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been agreed between the Department of Health and Human Services, the Public Advocate, the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) and Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative (BDAC), relating to child protection clients with cognitive disabilities.
The MOU establishes collaborative approaches to transition planning for those young people with cognitive disabilities who, upon reaching adulthood and leaving care, require a guardian to assist with decision-making.
