COVID-19 response

To assure the safety and health of child protection staff and their clients, changes have been implemented to how child protection practitioners do their work. Practitioners can find detailed information on these changes on the DHHS COVID-19 Hub site.

Some of these changes will require practitioners to do some of their work differently to how it is currently outlined in the Child Protection Manual.

Practitioners are required to refer to information provided on the department’s COVID-19 Hub (Sharepoint site) and implement the changed processes and practice requirements. If the practice advice or procedure is not on the Hub, then practitioners should refer to the Child Protection Manual.

The COVID-19 Hub should be reviewed by practitioners and managers on a regular basis. The COVID 19 Hub advice for Frontline Operations Staff will continue to be updated on health advice from the Government and the Chief Health Officer.
