SAFER children framework

From 20 November 2021, SAFER is the risk assessment framework for Victorian child protection practitioners.

Policies, procedures and advice have been updated on the Child Protection manual to reflect the new way of working, and align with changes made to CRIS.

The framework guide is now available on the Child Protection manual. The accessible version can be found here.

Also available is Figure 3 from the framework guide.

SAFER went 'live' on 20 November 2021. However, it is still important child protection practitioners, leaders and managers complete e-learn modules and attend the SAFER Essentials online training programs.
